Enjoy Nature
Welcome to the Kiamichi Mountains of Oklahoma! It’s not very often that someone equates Oklahoma with mountains, but if you’re familiar at all with Southeastern Oklahoma, you’ve seen the views of the rolling mountains as they build up more and more into the Ozark Mountains in Arkansas. And with mountains come all the opportunities you’ve come to expect including a ton of nature trails. So, we want to ask you, “Have you ever been on a family nature hike?” This has been one of our favorite family activities each year on our family vacations. It can take a little bit of time to disengage from the pace and sounds of the busy city or a busy, active life filled with work, school, practice, deadlines, games, travel, meetings, and all the daily activities that so quickly become our “normal” for each day. We get that. It’s not a bad thing to be super busy, UNLESS, it keeps you from ever being able to get away and disengage for a time and engage with nature. The sights, sounds, smells and textures of nature around Liquid Therapy Lodge Broken Bow Cabins. Again, it may take some time and some coaxing (yourself or your family) to get to a place where you disconnect, but as you’re able to do that more and more, you’ll discover how the beauty of nature will flood into that empty space and fascinate your spirit and soul.
We spend so much time feeding our body and our mind during the week, it can be easy to overlook your spirit and soul. These are truly the very core of each of us as humans and when we have neglected them it can leave us feeling a little off center. Just putting away the phone, computer… any digital technology really, and just experiencing nature. It doesn’t have to be a long walk up a mountain. It can be an easy short walk down to a stream or into the woods being quiet and letting nature speak to you. I know, that sounds a little woo woo, but it’s a real thing. Nature talks! And often it can be quite profound. From Liquid Therapy Lodge Broken Bow Cabins, a walk, a bike ride, a canoe trip, a boat ride, a jog… can really be impactful to our spirit and soul. Geeze, just sitting on the porch or out by our amazing pool can have the same impact. It’s really just about slowing down and resting. The Bible says, “Be still and know that I am God”. Liquid Therapy Lodge Broken Bow Cabins gives you that opportunity to “be still” so you can truly connect with something much much bigger than you. This connection allows for new perspectives on life and circumstances. Just like the mountain trails lead to views of landscape that you hadn’t seen before, so this connection can give you a perspective that you haven’t seen before and it can be quite cathartic.
Below, we’ve listed several ways to engage and connect with nature while you’re staying at Liquid Therapy Lodge Broken Bow Cabins. We’ve even left a lot of material in the lodge for you to look at while you’re here. You’ll see pictures of places we’ve seen and things we’ve done to connect with nature. You’ll also see and hear from others that have stayed here at Liquid Therapy Lodge Broken Bow Cabins about what they’ve done to connect with nature; how they took a little time to feed their spirit and soul. You may choose to do something you hear from us or you may be more interested in discovering nature on your own and adventuring out to engage in the beauty and majesty of nature without any specific plan or purpose. That works too (just be sure you tell someone which direction you’re heading!).
We think this is one of the most powerful things you can do while you’re here. It’s one of the most influential activities you can do with your family. It’s one of the most memorable things you could do with your friends. Shared experiences are the most powerful experiences and if those experiences occur in tandem with nature it is often a very deep impact. I encourage you to actually grab something to write with and on while you venture out and write down things you hear and see. You can’t write as fast as you think, so writing will require you to slow down and think about and process what you’re thinking and feeling. It’s not uncommon to actually begin to write poetry or song lyrics when you encounter nature in this raw way. I’m serious, we hear it quite often from people staying at Liquid Therapy Lodge Broken Bow Cabins. There’s something about being still and hearing the wind blow gently through the trees or the water flowing over rocks, for most people it can become great therapy for the spirit and soul. We look forward to hearing about your experiences in this beautiful landscape created specifically for your spirit to be encouraged and enriched.
